Like to vote on every bill?

We've all heard how the Australian election will be played out online more than ever before. The Liberal party and the Australian Labor Party each have their own YouTube channels for starters. Rudd also has his well publicised Kevin07.

But a new completely on-line based political party is running for election to the Australian Senate and taking online to the extreme.

From their website:

Senator On-Line is not aligned to any other political party… it is neither Liberal nor Labor.

Senator On-Line (‘SOL’) is a truly democratic party which will allow everyone on the Australian Electoral roll who has access to the internet to vote on every Bill put to Parliament and have its Senators vote in accordance with a clear majority view.

We will be running candidates for the upcoming federal Upper House (Senate) elections.

When a SOL senator is elected a web site will be developed which will provide:

  • Accurate information and balanced argument on each Bill and important issues
  • The vast majority of those registered on the Australian Electoral roll the chance to have their say by voting on bills and issues facing our country
  • A tally of all votes which will then count in Parliament

Each person on the Australian Electoral roll will be entitled to one vote and only be allowed to vote once on each bill or issue.

DaS Energy being a new comer to Election 07, would like to congradulate SOL on its initiative.
On many other blog sites it strived to instigate such a Party commencing a E-tech democracy where democracy could occur in real time not triannualy. This is especialy needed as our children and their childrens children must pay for our prosperity of today, and such a voting system would give them a say in the Earth we will leave them. Not even the maddest terrorist could dream up the harm we bring, but with the full support of all those Governments fighting terrorism.
